Surya
Salem, Tamil Nadu
TFN Fellow 2026
Living in the Kodai hills now, Surya’s relationship with nature deepened when he slowed down to observe biodiversity and engage with forest-adjacent communities, witnessing how climate shifts and tourism shape both ecosystems and livelihoods. With a background in engineering and design, he approaches environmental challenges through empathy and systems thinking, recognising that conservation must align with ecological education and community well-being.
As a TFN fellow, he hopes to engage children as future guardians of their landscapes, nurturing values that support a socially, economically, and ecologically sustainable future for all living beings.
