I've been lucky enough to live in close quarters with nature and experience some of the greatest hits of the natural world that our planet has to offer. Having had a taste of the pastoral life, I believe that's a way of life that the next generation must also have a shot at if they choose to. Unfortunately, with the ecological crisis living off the land has become harder, so much so that we have lost the incentive to even try.
The way out of this Pareto optimal/prisoner's dilemma I believe, is through education. When we become aware of the poor substitute, we have been sold in lieu of the joy of living sustainably we'll find the impetus to change.
We have been sleeping on how creative teaching can be and what it can do for the longest time. I am particularly looking forward to the different perspectives of the fellows and putting them to practice with my experiments in education.
