About Us

Bhoomi College has been an idea, a dream in seed form for a long, long time. It continued to grow through the Prakriya Green Wisdom School, where in subtle and tangible ways we continued to work on building consciousness about ecologically wise living. Children played games to identify trees, worked in the garden and went on Nature walks; They learnt science and sensitivity through themes of the five elements – Prithvi, Jal, Vayu, Agni and Aakaash (Earth, water, air, energy and space); and worked on real life projects ranging from creating a pond eco-system to building a compost toilet to understanding ecology, food and health.

In 2007, a group of us began working on an Earth Citizenship seminar and then went on to organizing conferences on Food, Health and Climate Change(2009) and on The Good Life (2011). As Bhoomi Network our group expanded, and after 2 years of bringing out the Bhoomi magazine and organizing several programmes on Inner and Outer Ecology, we are now a formal college as well. Some of the strong supporters and anchors of Bhoomi College are listed below.
